Introduction Text I have "piddled around" with the site for over 5 years. At first, it was just something to read. Now, I find myself looking forward each day to the articles and trying out some of the exercises and recipes. I am so amazed with all the information and with the people involved with this site. Every page I turn is something new to see and learn and enjoy. My questions are answered promptly and the trophies are a fun addition. I have made new friends too. Now that we have the LiveMind classes, I have more to look forward to. Usually, I do not like change, but when SparkPeople makes a change - it is good. Now this site is better than Facebook! Thank you SparkPeople.

I have struggled most of my life to "lose" weight and I have lost at least a ton. I am healthy and happy and now, although I still want (and need) to lose pounds, I want to stay fit and have lots of energy to enjoy my life.

I think that I have tried very diet program available. I have lost and gained more pounds than I can remember. Finally at this stage in my life, I have discovered those "diets" only work temporarily for me. As soon as the diet is over, I go back to my old eating habits and re-gain the weight - - again and again. Now, that cannot be good for me!

I live on a ranch in SW New Mexico. Parts of my house are over 100 years old and some is made of adobe. I have plenty of work but I still find time to eat too much. I love to cook and hostess - guess that is part of my problem. And my husband is very thin. I have one grown son who lives in Wichita, KS. My husband has three children and eleven grand children. Some live here on the ranch and are active in rodeo activities.

We enjoy the movies and as we live an hour from a theater, we try to see any kind of movie that fits our time slot when we are in town. I also read a lot because we do not have TV! Thank goodness for my computer.
