Introduction Text I have been a member of Sparkpeople since 2005. I have come and gone many times throughout that eight year period. My weight has fluctuated very often as well. I have always struggled with my weight. I had much to overome from a childhood of sexual abuse, a dysfuntional family that dosed out verbal and physchological abuse daily, an abusive marriage, and more. I learned at an early age not to trust people, hold feelings inside, and to keep to myself. Food was a comfort to me. I didn't just eat food because it made me "feel" good, I ate it because I took great pleasure in the taste and texture of it. It was a highlight in my dismal life. It was a refuge. I've never been EXTREMELY overweight, and that's shocking in knowing how much I love food and how I use food with my emotions, but overweight is overweight no matter how great or small. And I've yo-yo'ed with my weight for as long as I can remember. Being overweight much more often than being in the healthy range. I have had quite the journey in life. I found healing and forgiveness for my suffering and abuse through Jesus Christ. He, not me, has changed me into a new creature. I am no longer the wounded, angry, bitter person that I once was. I enjoy life and all that God brings with it. I love people and have a heart for other wounded hearts. I am forever astonished at the many blessings that God has rained, and continues to rain down on me. But with all the changes He has brought and is still bringing into my life I hadn't made much change in my eating habits and my physical fitness had decreased from active to sedetary. As my heart and mind were changing, my outward appearance was also changing but not for the good. I was growing older, gravity was kicking in, I was moving less and I beginning to expand more and more. At last, He spoke and I heard. It came as a thought one day and I couldn't beleive it took me so long to get it. I have been taught for many years now about our bodies, as believers, being a temple of the Holy Spirit. I've heard time and time again how we are to care for our bodies because Christ dwells within us. Why didn't that register???? I have come so far and He has done so much on the inside. It's way past time for me to do my part for Him. So......, I'm cleaning house. I'm changing my lifestyle in the area of health and fitness to match my spiritual one. I put time effort, dedication, and devotion into my spiritual lifestyle. It's time to put those same ingredients into the health of my body. So here I am back with Sparkpeople once again. But this time it's for a much BIGGER reason. It isn't for self, or vanity. It's for my love for my Father. His light shines through me but I want that light to shine through a healthy, fit, woman who gives Him honor by treating well the body that He chose for me. This time my journey is much more serious and much more committed. He will continue to work on the inside of me; my heart and my mind and now together we can work on the physical part of me. Through prayer He is strengthening me to make better food choices. He has given me motivation and endurance to come up with a fitness plan that works for me. The finished product will be revealed when He brings me home to heaven but it's exciting to watch the changes He brings into my life while I'm a work in progress.

1. To make healthy eating a natural lifestyle. 2. To make excercise a natural part of my week, 3. To do all that I can to make my body as healthy as is within my ability. 4. To let God's light shine ever brightly through a renovated and improved body.

1. I'm tracking my food daily and consistently to give me accountability and awareness. 2. I'm using Sparkpeople to find people who motivate and inspire me. 3. I've developed a fitness plan that works with my schedule and I can stay committed to.
