I'm 63 years old and have been on disability for over 10 years. I'm somewhat active, but I do sit a lot, so over the years I found myself at 210 lbs and at least 60 lbs over weight.
A couple of years ago the winters got too much for me so I moved to FL. Now I can go out and walk almost everyday without cold, or ice or snow or worrying about slipping. The first year I was here I lost 20lb just walking the dog everyday but I hit a standstill so I came back to SparkPeople. I started reading labels, watching what I ate more closely. Although mostly I just cut down on portion size and ate out less.
After reading an article on exercise & workouts I joined a gym and hired a trainer for 2x a week.
WHAT a difference it makes! The inches are coming off and the pants sizes are going down. I've gone from 210 size 20W to 173 size 14 regular.
25lbs to go and hanging in there. Most important, I feel terrific!

My Goals:
Ultimately weigh 150 by Christmas, but by my birthday would be even better!

Continue to make progress.

Go to gym 3x week

set up home gym routine


My Program:
I keep positive. Although I weigh everyday for reference, once a week I weigh, measure and track the change. Healthy food has taken over my fridge & pantry. And probably most important--I got up off the couch. Am training with a coach 2x wk and walking my dog for at least a mile 4x a week. Now that it's summer the pool is warm and I swim everyday. I'm up to 3/4 of a mile.
