It may not be my day but it's gonna be my year! "Be the turtle."
My motivation when I don't feel like working out (it's powerful stuff):
"A workout is 25 percent perspiration and 75 percent determination. Stated another way, it is one part physical exertion and three parts self-discipline. My motivation when I don't feel like working out (it's powerful stuff):
"A workout is 25 percent perspiration and 75 percent determination. Stated another way, it is one part physical exertion and three parts self-discipline. A workout makes you better today than you were yesterday. It strengthens the body, relaxes the mind and toughens the spirit. When you workout regularly, your problems diminish and your confidence grows. A workout is a personal triumph over laziness and procrastination. It's the badge of a winner--the mark of an organized, goal-oriented person who has taken charge of his or her destiny. A workout is a wise use of time and an investment in excellence. It is a way of preparing for life's challenges and proving to yourself that you have what it takes to do what is necessary. A workout is a key that helps unlock the door to opportunity and success. Hidden within each of us is an extraordinary force. Physical and mental fitness are the triggers that can release it. A workout is a form or rebirth. When you finish a good workout, you don't simply feel better, you feel better about yourself."
Now you feel like working out, don't you?!

My Goals:
*Stay committed to food and workout logs.
*Give myself 5 minutes a day for positive, self reflection.
*Try to let go of negative fat talk.
*Work on setting some goals, e.g., a 5k (I'm currently not a runner); a bike race (I do own a very nice bike); perform two consecutive pull-ups (can't do one... yet).
28-Day Challenge and I completed one of my goals, getting some type of cardio every weekend!
My Program:
I'm motivated, getting to the gym and working hard is not a problem for me (I go to the gym 5x/week--3 ST sessions and 2 cardio); my problem lies in my diet and I'm hoping the calorie tracker will help keep me in-line and under budget for my daily allowance.
New Gadgets:
* Pedometer
* Food Scale
Personal Information:
I'm originally from Chicago and relocated to Washington, D.C. in 1995 and have been here ever since. It was a good move, I met and married my husband and we have a beautiful daughter, Ella.
Personal:
Height -- 5'11
Highest weight -- 240 (after gaining 70 pregnancy pounds!)
Current -- 182
Goal and PB -- 160
Other Information:
I do everything late in life, I got a college degree in my 30's, I got married when I was 40 and had my daughter the year I turned 42. During my pregnancy I gained 70 lbs. (please don't do this!) I lost 50 of those 70 and have been working to lose the last 20 ever since. My goal is to be the best and live the best life I can, for me and my family.
