Persistance does count, impatience usually sets you back. Moving ahead, even if ever so slowly, gets you somewhere in the long run.

My Goals:
I have a set some short term goals to loose at least 20 pounds by May for my third son's wedding and to loose another 20 by October for my 4th son's wedding. But, my long-range goal is to loose a total of 60- 70 pounds in however long it takes me and to keep it off. The long range goal is more for my over-all health and appearance because I have been struggling with my weight all of my life and would love to get to a healthy weight and stay there.
My Program:
I have started out with a reduction in my overall carbs (especially the white carbs) as that seems to be the way I have been able to loose in the past. I will continue to use complex carbs sparingly. Lots of veggies and fresh fruit and lean protein seem to be the best regimine for me. I struggle with exercise and have to force myself to make time for at least a 20-30 minute walk most days. I hope to improve my motivation with exercise as the weight comes off. .
Personal Information:
I am a 59 year old nurse from NW Iowa. I work in a community mental health center. I live on a farm and my husband is retired from farming. I have 4 adult sons, 2 of whom are getting married this year. We have 6 grandchildren and 3 step-grand kids.
Other Information:
Because I am still working full-time, I have a lot of interests that I would like to spend more time doing. I love to cook, and am interested in new low-cal and diabetic recipes(my husband is the diabetic). I like most types of music , but especially 60-70's hits. Much of our spare time is spent with children and grandchildren and I am the official photographer, so orgaizing the family photo collections is always an ongoing project.
