My new update: I really want to fully update this page, but thought I would at least put some current information here. Short term goals posted before included reaching 150 by the time I went to the beach. As you can see.....didn't happen! I just got back from the beach and my time there, although great with family and just relaxing, it really solidified my desire to get this weight off. Next year when we go I really want to have reached this goal! I'm tired of being this overweight.

The good news....I haven't put a lot of weight on. (You gotta look for the positives). I ran a 4 miler in September with my daughter. I know I can do, stick around and see my progress!!

May 11, 2009

Well, here I am again to say that today is a new day! This begins my new journey to become the better me. I'm not 50 yet...but it is soooo close. I turn 49 this summer and it is time that I focus on getting this weight off once and for all. I've been struggling with some back problems and now I have an arm that is numb and pain in my shoulder from degenerative disc disease and bone encroaching on the nerve exit. MRI scheduled for this week! So, since strong exercise may be out of the question for a while.....I've decided that I can walk and possibly jog and I've got to quit making excuses! GET MOVING and watch my eating. I know the things to do, I just need to do them!

I read on a Sparkpeople page the following quote:

Being fat is hard;
Being fit is hard;
Choose your hard!

That really hits home. I'm tired of living's time to live fit again. It feels so much better!

Stay tuned for updates!!
I've been on this weight roller coaster for a long time. I've probably lost twice my body weight or more, but it found me again! Anyway, I turned 48 this year and I'm ready to take this weight off for my health and also for how I look. From past experience, I know I need a community to be able to do this and stay focused, so here I am. I want my 50's to be the best they can be.

    Thanks for the comment on my blog. I tend to strive for perfection and expect things to happen overnight. If I mess up once in a day I figure I've blown it and just keep blowing it. I need to slow down and take things one day at a time. Like you said, slow and steady wins. We can do this!

    Thanks for your help re: turning on my fitness and food tracker. Hope this helps me stay more honest. A few times people have wanted to be helpful and said I should turn it on so they could see it.. so now it's done. I've added you as a friend, (hope that is okay) would like to share your progress and success! Sharon
