Introduction Text Hi my name is Jessica, I'm 22 years old and am aiming to lose 20 lbs. I`m a full time and fully licensed hairstylist. In January 2009 I was at my highest weight, 175-180 at 5'6" I was hanging on the border of being obese. A picture of me and my new puppy at this time changed my life. I couldn't believe that was what I looked like and really couldn't fathom how I had gotten so big. In getting my puppy ( his name is Obi and is a Golden Doodle ) got me outside and walking as he is a breed that needs a lot of exercise. By the time June rolled around I was down to 165, with just walking and getting off the couch and playing with the pup. I came across spark in June when I was looking online for a nutrition tracker. I was not looking for anything else other then a place to document my eating habits to keep my over eating in check. After we found out that my grandmother had had a series of small strokes ( she is morbidly obese ) I knew it was time to start stepping up and taking responsibility for my own destructive path. That`s when I started exploring spark, paying more attention the the Teams I was signed up for, and reading the articles that were emailed to me. Now that I am only a few pounds away from reaching my goal, I have to give a major thanks to spark people and all my spark buddies for getting me so much closer to my goals then if I were to go it alone. If it were not for them I probably would not have picked myself up after I fell numerous times. It`s not about how many times you fall. It`s about how many times you can pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep putting one foot in front of the other.
