I am trying to make the best of each day the Lord has given me. My body is the temple of the Lord, and therefore it is my duty to keep myself healthy and more able to do the things He commands me to do. I want to be able to live a long healthy life to be able to enjoy by family and to enjoy doing things with my wonderful grandchildren.
The person who really wants to do something finds a way; the other person finds an excuse.

Fitness Minutes: 43,158

My Goals:
Lose 5% of my weight to lower blood pressure.
Gain more energy.
Plan a diet based on foods for hypothyroidism.
Be more consistent in exercise. Doing at least 30 minutes daily.

My Program:
1. Participate in the Fall 5% Challenge
2Track food daily and stay within SP guidelines.
3. Pilates and walking.
4. I try to walk 10,000 steps each day.
5. I focus more on how much better I feel than how much I have lost.
6. Working to add muscle and tone my arms. Do strength training twice a week.

Exercise plan for Fall 5% Challenge:
30 minutes cardio 4 days a week.
Go to Senior Center for Silver Sneakers exercise class 3 days a week.
Strength training 2 times a week.
Pilates 3 days a week.

7. Diet will be cutting back on carbs and tracking to make sure calories are in range.
8. Get 8 glasses water daily.
9. Work toward getting 5 freggies daily.

Personal Information:
I live on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee. I have 6 grandchildren and 7 step grandchildren. I enjoy reading, crocheting, cooking, and gardening, and being with family. I enjoy living where we can enjoy the 4 seasons and the different beauties each one brings. I live on a small farm in a very rural area. We have some angus cows, some goats, and a doberman who thinks she is the boss. I am a retired school teacher having taught kindergarten the last several years.

Other Information:
I went skydiving for my 72nd birthday. Would love to do again.
I have no support at home and rely on Spark Friends for encouragement and support.

    Thank you for visiting my page. How are you doing with your exercise schedule? I've been struggling in that area. I make a schedule then don't stick to it. Ugh! But I keep trying. I bought a mini-trampoline that has just been sitting in a corner. Today I pulled it out and bounced, jogged, jumped on it while I watched a TV program. Better than just sitting on my butt not burning any calories. I started with 15 min and will progress from there.
