I started the Spark journey in September of 2009 and I am very happy I got the chance to use all the resources and tools that this website offers-along with the book!

I am entering a new year in my life and I want to ensure that this year will be the year that I actually commit to something I put my mind to- I am used to making goals and setting expectations for myself, I am a very goal oriented person...the problem is that I do not always follow through with them, and then I end up feeling disappointed in myself.

This year will my year. I've come to the realization that this cannot be a diet or a short term goal...this needs to be a lifestyle change.

Fitness Minutes: 8,223

My Goals:
My goal is to be heatlhy, fit and happy! I know that once the number on the scale goes down and the dress sizes shrink I will feel AWESOME but in reality, the whole thing needs to come together for me and I think as long as Im trying my best, I will succeed!!

My Program:
I bought new running shoes and started running. I love it! And my dog gets some fresh air and exercise along with me! The program I plan to do is:
-run as much as possible during the week, even if it's just 15 minutes
-walk with my muffin every single day
-I also bought an elliptical so I plan to make use of my money, use it every day for as long as I can
-strength train every other day (especially my arms) and stretch!

Nutrition wise:
-I will eat a filling breakfast every morning (lots of fibre)
-have a snack twice a day
-eat every 3 hours or whenever I feel hungry (but i wont let myself go hungry)
-drink at LEAST 4 cups of water every day
-eat only fresh and healthy food- nothing processed and no fatty foods.
-treats are allowed in moderation...and portion controlled!

Overall: be active all the time, make the best of every opportunity and remember: it may taste good now, but will i feel good in 5 minutes?

    For the comment to my blog post and the ideas you gave me. I do eat yogurt but I keep forgetting it's in there. Ha! Probably making myself little mini vegi-trays with a dip of some sort would resolve a lot of that and keep me eating properly. Thanks again!

    HOw do you like Spa Lady? I thought about joining but then decided I much prefer to work out at home. I like buying my own workout stuff Maybe some day I'll try Spa lady or Curves or something like that.
    Hahah a girl I work with is dating a guy that works at that newfie bar. I can't remember the name of it though. Was it fun there?
    I didn't do much this weekend. It was actually a pretty bummer weekend. Hoping next will be better.

    Congratulations on the purchase of your house. How do you like Ogden? I'm a SW girl. Always have been. Lived in the NE for a couple months once with roomies when I first moved to calgary..but other than that I've been in the SW. I've been in Calgary for about 10 years now so i guess I can call it home now...and I know tons of people that were born here. Maybe one day i can intruduce you to them and then you can say you know lots of people born and raised in Caalgary lol
