I'm a 56 woman who has always struggled with weight. In the past, I had better eating and exercise habits, and now I need more motivation to do what I should be doing.

Sept 14, 2017 Update:
I've been on Sparks for 60 days, and I can't believe the difference in how I feel. I'm stronger. I'm going up stairs without being winded. When I started Sparks, I wanted to make small changes and maybe lose a pound a week. I really like that SP encouraged small changes, like 10 min of exercise. I knew that I was unhealthy, and I was missing out on activities, but I honestly didn't know if I could get healthy. I was afraid of dieting, because the common thought is that diets don't work, and you end up gaining more weight. I went to a physical trainer who made me feel like an incompetent moron, which made everything worse.

Thank you SparksPeople. I'm making changes for my life. I'm making food choices that I can live with for years, and I'm not feeling deprived. I LOVE all the information, and the comments from other people. I LOVE the tracking, and the interface with fitbit.

My short term goal is to login to SP for 100 days, and I'm half way there.

Fitness Minutes: 4,321

My Goals:
Lose 100 lbs, but lets start with 30 lbs, with 1 lb a week. I'm starting at 300 lbs



My Program:
Log into SP everyday (ok, at least 5x week)
Drink 8 glasses of water daily
Increase my fitness (but no goal on this yet)
Take all my vitamins daily
Baby steps that I can continue for the rest of my life.

I'm very happily married for 32 years, with 2 adult children, and 1 grand daughter. I live in Brampton, ON, Canada
