Hey everybody! My friend told me about this site. I am to the point that if I don't change my lifestyle that I might not get healthy. I am a young mother and wife. I am also in college and have let myself go, really really go. It is sad to say but I feel like I should be atleast 50. I have no energy and would rather sleep than do anything. Sad isn't it. Well anyway, that sums me up and I can't wait to meet new people and start the race that will make me healthy.


Cardiac Unit Diet

Do NOT VARY OR SUBSTITUTE ANY FOOD!!! Eat all foods listed. Salt and pepper can be used, but no other seasonings. This menu is to be used for 3 days at a time. In 3 days you will lose 10 pounds. After 3 days of dieting, you can eat your normal food but DO NOT OVER EAT. After 4 days of normal eating, start on your 3 day menu again.

This menu works on a chemical breakdown and is proven to work. It is used at the Birmingham, Alabama hospital cardiac unit on patients who need to lose lots of weight in a hurry before heart surgery. You can lose 40 pounds per month.

DAY 1:

Breakfast:

Black coffee/Tea
1/2 grapefruit
1 Tbsp. peanut butter
1 slice toast

Lunch:

Black coffee/tea
1 cup tuna(in water)/salmon
1 slice bread

Dinner:

Black coffe/tea
3 slices of any type of meat (3 oz)
1 cup of green beans
1 cup of carrots/beets
1 small apple

Snack:
1 cup of Vanilla ice cream

Day 2

Breakfast

Black coffee/tea
1/2 banana
1 slice of toast
1 egg anyway you like

Lunch

black coffee/tea
1 1/4 cups cottage cheese
5 saltine crackers

Dinner

black coffee/ tea
2 all beef wieners
1 cup broccoli/cabbage
1/2 cup carrots
1/2 banana

Snack

1/2 cup vanilla ice cream


Day 3

Breakfast

Black coffee/tea
1 small apple
1 oz chedder cheese
5 saltine crackers

Lunch

Black coffee/tea
1 hard boiled egg
1 slice toast

Dinner

Black coffee/tea
1 cup of tuna
1 cup cauliflower/green beans
1 cup cantaloupe

Snack

1/2 cup of vanilla ice cream


Substitutions:

Diet Pepsi/ Water instead of coffee/tea
1/2 cup grapefruit juice instead of grapefruit
1 small apple instead of cantaloupe

Measurements:

1 cup tuna = 2 6 oz cans
1/2 grapefruit = 4 oz of grapfruit or 1/2 cup of grapefruit juice
1 oz. cheddar cheese = 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar


This isn't an expensive diet, and only 3 days a week, what would it hurt to see if it really works. Good luck everybody.

    Hey girl!!! How's it coming along? Me, it's going great. I'VE TRIED THAT DIET up there. It totally works but is totally nasty to me LOL! I lost 6 pounds in a week.... I mean OMG! That's a lot of weight. Well, good luck on your weight loss!!

    I am new to sparkpeople but saw your comment that you also do weight watchers. So do I. Do you go to Weight Watcher meetings or do you use WW on line? Also are you continuing using both sites I was thinking about just using this site because it is free. I was curious about your thoughts on this. Thanks for any insite you might provide.
