As the old Scottish proverb says, Always keep your mind open but not so open that your brains fall out!

I lost my first 25 pounds in five months with SparkPeople in 2007 and felt better than I had in years. I'm going to feel that good and even better because this time I will stay at goal!

Timeline:
1-1-2007 - 203 lbs
1-1-2011 - 187
1-1-2012 - 182
1-1-2013 - 181
9-10-2013 159 That was over 12% lost that year! Waist measured 35 inches. It was an awesome feeling when the seamstress said "I'm going to have to take 3 1/2 inches off this waist!" when altering a fancy dancy dress. I can remember how good I felt and I will remember this moment every time I approach the fridge!

1-1-2016 188 I try to blame stress, but I know that is an excuse.

Goals Still Attainable:

Maintain, Maintain, Maintain when I get to my final goal of
149 on my dotor's scale and rate mid-normal on Sparks BMI charts. This might be a realistic final goal. I think I'll know when I get there. Feeling good and being less self conscious will make me happy! I will feel GREAT!!!

10-15-19 I'm still fat but trying. My husband convinced me to try keto and I lost over 4 pounds yesterday. I have three peaches, one mango, and a pineapple on my counter that are calling my name but not on the diet....

My Goals:
I have a goal of a waist measurement 35 or under and a waist/hip ratio of .85 or under. I don't know what weight that will be...
Another way to measure that waist goal (Prvention Magazine, March 2010) is to divide my waist measurement by my height and aim for a waist-to-height ratio of less than 0.5. This reveals a goal of a 34 inch waist.
My goal is to get under 150 pounds and revaluate based on the above measurements.

My Program:
1. Make better food choices
2. Limit serving size and seconds
3. Drink water
4. Walk
5. Go to bed at 11 and get up at 7.
6. Quit eating by 8pm.

Personal Information:
I'm 5' 8.5" and I was under 120 lbs in high school, in the 120's when I got married, 130s before children, 140s in my 30s and then I just kept growing. I don't think I'll know what I should weigh until I get there, but I must get my waist under control.
