I am a wife, mother of one 22 year old son, 50 year old lady. My most important things are family and God (not in that order). I like spending time with family, shopping, people, and learning about new things. I have taken a long time to put anything here because I don't want to put more importance on my weight than it deserves. I feel happy, am pretty healthy, but am very overweight. I started out here 65 lbs heavier. That was in January 2017. Although here it is September and I had hoped to have lost more by this time, I am feeling positive and determined to continue to lose and become stronger and more active. I have indeed been overweight my whole life (or at least I always felt that way). In high school my mom was confined to a wheelchair due to MS. This was a point for my whole family to gain a lot of weight. There are 7 of us kids and we all seemed to balloon up over that time. I have been on many, many different diets/programs. I have lost a lot of weight many times before. At my highest weight I never have the courage to weigh myself. So I am not sure the extent of my weight loss but regardless. I feel very committed right now. I have been on track for the most part for 9 months. I started out with problems with my knees and so did swimming to start. I was very nervous about making my knee problem worse. Luckily and with some months of activity my knees are hardly ever sore at all! Yay. Now although I don't want to lead anyone to believe that my weight is the most important thing about me or the thing that defines me, I have and do struggle with issues surrounding weight and all that go with it. I choose now to keep moving forward and I choose to feel good about my progress and my ability to lose weight and be active in the future.

Slowly, I have gotten stronger, feel better, more confident, and look a bit better. I am trying to stay positive no matter what the scale says each week. I have been goal setting every Sunday night, logging my food somewhat consistently, and trying to do a low carb type eating plan. I have loved Spark because it helps me so much to see so much positive, people's success, motivation, and daily reminders to stay focused.
