Hi! I'm Karen, I'm 42 years old, and I live in Southeastern Michigan with my husband. I have one dog and one cat. I hit my highest weight ever in 3/11, when I joined a program that had me buy a lot of shakes. It worked, and I lost 77 pounds by 9/11, then I ran out of money. I put on 61 of those pounds by 9/12, and that's why I'm here. I joined SparkPeople a long time ago and never used it. I'm determined to use it this time. I need to lose a lot of weight, I'm just hoping that one day I can see 199#. Doctors have even told me this will privacy not happen. This is very difficult for me to be open and honest about, but I figure I need to do something to change my life, so why not this? Other than the weight issues, I love hockey (the Detroit Red Wings are my favorite), music (everything from Punk to Sinatra is in my playlist), games, arts/crafts, fashion, and nail art. I have a nail polish addiction. I have too many bottles to count and enjoy being creative with my nails. I figure, I could have worse problems than being a nail polish hoarder :) I left my page open to comments because I'm always interested to hear people's stories and suggestions; however, I am not naive. People are often cruel, and I'm an adult, so I choose not to respond. I will delete any mean and hateful comments from my page. It's not helping me or anyone reading my page. I believe most people come here for motivation, inspiration, and friendship, so that's they way I will manage my page :)

My Goals:
Long term goals:
-Feel better
-Lose around 200 lbs, give or take

Short term goals:
-Control late day snacking
-Make better snack choices

My Program:
Right now, I'm trying to see how being broke will fit in with eating better. I'm sharing my food/fitness trackers. Some days I will go over, some days I will be spot on. Sometimes I'm not going to do anything, and that's OK. Small wins.
