2010 is MY Zen! - 70 LBS GONE...JUST LIKE THAT!
(UPDATE 8/8/09) Today marks my 10-month "Bandiversary". It's an awesome feeling and I know I am living a truer healthier lifestyle. It takes a LOT of work...but I am reaping the benefits along the way! I am making progress through dedication and discipline and I am forever motivating myself with pep talks and revamping my routine weekly and I am so proud of myself. I am doing the 'happy dance' literally.

This is true. No one can tell me "how, when, where, what or why" I should do things to make me happier and healthier. I have to see and do it for myself. (updated 4/8/09)~61 LBS GONE...FOREVER!

Today marks my 6th month 'bandiversary' and I've lost a total of 61 lbs since my personal weight loss journey started last year. Wow…I am overwhelm and in awe. I know I wouldn’t be here to share my success thus far if it weren’t for the lapband AND SparkPeople, for the support, knowledge, experience and the skills from everyone.

I joined SparkPeople on Feb 15, 2009, less than (2) months ago. When I started to browse around, I can see why everyone is on this site. I felt as though I stepped into the magical world of ‘Sparkleland’! Immediately I felt the constant commotions of the comings and goings of people from all directions. Everyone was helping the newbies (new members) to place them into a home (team) and the teachers (coaches/leaders) were teaching and guiding (the articles and the food/fitness trackers) the students (Spark members). The excitement ran through my body as I, too, wanted to find a home for me and want the same yearning.

Last month, I joined (2) Biggest Loser teams and so far have lost 10 lbs. I’ve still a few more weeks to go. I am keeping the focus and try to diligently follow the challenges and I am making progress!

I am still a ‘first yearling’…but I am driven, determine, and will succeed!

Ok, I’ve just past my middle marker on the mountaintop and I’m starting to prepare myself going down the slope to my goal. I am going to have an amazing ride going downstream, so it’s time to pump it up! YEAH!!

I feel GREAT! …I feel FANTASTIC!! ...and I feel SUPER CHARGED!!!

(2/15/09 ~ First entry, when I joined)


I don't see myself fat, but I shock myself every time I pass a mirror. WHOA ~ what happened? Where is the 'other' thinner me? WHERE did Jude go?

Something had to happen and I needed help but kept this too myself thinking I can lose the weight on my own. After my husband's son and his family all had lapband surgery last year and seeing the early results, I thought this might give me the right tool. After researching, I've decided to have the surgery as well. I had my lapband surgery on Oct 8, 2008 and it's the best thing I could have done for myself, my health, my life. The weight had to come off and the band journey is making it happen.

I wasn't overweight until I hit my early 30's and then it just went downhill from there, with all those yo-yo 'come-on fad' diets, the 'miracle pill', etc, ~ you know the drill, lose 20 pounds quickly, then gained 30 back.

Now I need to be accountable for my action and lead a healthier lifestyle!

One of the goals I wanted to succeed in was to curb my soda pop drinking. What I didn't realize, until recently, while re-learning my eating habits, soda pops were never a thought to include in my meal plans for the day. Now THAT is an amazing accomplishment, as I was a Pepsi-oholic, as much as drinking up to (2) 6-packs a day, from the moment I got up until I went to bed...and sometimes, I would have a soda pop can on my nightstand, for 'just in case' I was thirsty. I was never a water drinker by any means.

I joined SparkPeople on 2/15/09, and thus starts my amazing adventure to find ME again!

My Goals:
~ To stay focus on my goal setting
~ Be true to thyself

My Program:
~ do strength training 3x a week and cardio 5-7x a week. Walking at least 5-7 miles a day
~ stay between 1200-1550 calories and a minimum of 70g proteins daily

Personal Information:
Living in Sunny San Diego, CA is a blast! The ocean is a haven ofits own and the ambience is quite breathtaking.
