2011. It only took me 7 years, but hell. I made it.
This was what kept me from getting off the chair. Or so I claim.
The sun sets on one day, but rises again on a new morning.

I'm Baaack!
Once again I am back on Spark to lose some weight. Last time was 50. This time? 101.
Yup. Between August 2018 to July 2020 I gained 70 pounds. And it's time to stop and do something about it.
Me and my 55 pound lap dog, Link, are on a mission to get me healthy and both of us in shape (he is his perfect weight, despite my father's constant snacks for him).
Will there be challenges? Oh hell yes. But it will be worth it.

**Edit** As of six months from my start date in July I have lost 30 of those 70 pounds. Time to keep truckin'! **/edit**

My Goals:
Eat food, mostly plants, not too much (to quote Michael Pollan).
I WILL fit back into that slinky little black corset that only fits below 155lbs! And I intend to keep it that way.
My joints need less stress on them, my body needs to be able to move more easily, and the dog needs me to be more active with his couch-potato self.
My Program:
Eating lots of veggies to replace high sugar and bread-based foods. Not going low-carb, but more-real-food. The kind of food that needs cooked or prepared rather than out of a package. Also focusing on getting a fair amount of protein as I tend to lack that. Given the choice between bread and butter or chicken, my old habit was to take the bread. Now it is to grab that chicken!
I work and live a mostly sedentary life. Time to change that where I can. So I'm going to be adding exercise--any exercise--to my routine, even if it be chair calisthenics due to old Rheumatoid Arthritis damage. Minor things like doing wall pushups or squats while the tea brews can go a lot farther than the nothing I was getting!
Personal Information:
Living, Loving, and Cooking in the middle of New Mexico
Other Information:
Picking up the pieces of life after losing my husband of five years to brain cancer in 2013.
Keeping rheumatoid arthritis in check. Beating bipolar into submission.
