Introduction Text Hello Friends, I'm GymBenners and I started my weightloss journey (for the last time) weighing in at my heaviest ever, 370 pounds! But I wasn't always overweight. You see.... My problem started when I was about 20 and just married. Like most newly wed husbands, I put on a few pounds and so decided to try a new weight loss diet called SlimFast. Well, I lost the weight after a few weeks of drinking shakes, but as soon as I went back to eating "regularly", I gained back the pounds plus a few of their friends! And so began my struggle with YoYo dieting and weight gain for the next 19 years. Last December 2009, my little brother came down from New York to visit me. We went on a tour of all our old stomping grounds from when we were kids. This took me to a trip to the top of Stone Mountain, Georgia. He talked me into riding the cable car to the top. But he didn't tell me it was a one way ride! We ended up walking the 2.5 miles back down the mountain trail just like when we were kids. Only this time, every step was a jarring, painful reminder of just what I had become: 150 pounds over weight with high bloodpressure, tired all the time, no energy, sleep apnea, sore joints and muscles, etc...in short order, I was letting life pass me by. But worse, I was killing myself from the inside out. After that trip down the mountain I WAS SORE FOR A LITERAL WEEK! It was the wake up call I needed! Since January 2010, I have changed my lifestyle to a healthier, more active one that has really changed my life. I initially signed on with The Biggest Loser Club as a tool to help me reach my goals. I now eat balanced, healthy meals and get plenty of exercise and am loving it! So far, I've lost 69 pounds of fat and look forward to achieving the best fitness of my life thus far! Some of my buddies at BLC told me about Sparkpeople and the awesome tools that are here to help me reach my goals, so now I'm on board and here to stay. Many people have helped me reach my current acheivments and It's my hope that I can be an encouragement and an inspiration to others too. Perhaps I can even be one to you. To lose 150 pounds of fat, gain 20 pounds of lean muscle. Started at 370 pounds, my goal is to reach 220. I want to get off high blood pressure pills and be in the best shape of my life!

I am eating a healthy, balanced diet and exercising: Weight Training three days per week alternating upper and lower body. Cardio three days per week, rest one day off.

I own a pest control company called Guard Dog Termite & Pest Solutions Inc. We are the only company in Georgia that employs a certified Termite Detection K9 "TerMighty Max". He sniffs out the termite pheremones of active infestations and signals to us where they are much like a drug detection K9 sniffs out drugs, etc... Check out Max's web page at CallGuardDog.com

My wife and I volunteer some of our time each month to conduct free home bible studies with people in our area who are interested. We also enjoy the priveledge of being volunteer members of a regional construction crew (we're in the Termite Treatment Department) that builds bible education facilities called Kingdom Halls in Georgia and Alabama.
