My goal right now is to be healthy and active so that over the next 20 years I can keep up with and enjoy my two granddaughters, now 2 1/2 and 3 months. They are the light and joy of my life.

I'm menopausal, and it was hard to adjust to the changes that came on so quickly in just around a year. Loss of muscle tone, weight around the middle, looser skin, hair thinning. For the first time in my life I have to fill in my eyebrows!
But I've adjusted to this dear aging body, and am going to love and care for it the best I can. I was just diagnosed with chronic inflammation (finally a reason for my daily, unrelieved pain!), pre-diabetes, and slightly elevated blood pressure.
With my doctors help, exercise and a food elimination diet, I'm going to tackle them all.

The last two times I lost significant weight I had an event on a date to motivate me. One was taking my kids to see their dad, the second was my daughter's wedding.
My motivation isn't a date this time, but my health, and a goal to become a person who runs. I'm going to do this.

My Goals:
Lose to 128

Discover the cause of my chronic inflammation, starting with food elimination diet

Get blood sugar to normal levels to avoid developing full blown diabetes

Exercise at least 5 days a week as absence of pain will allow

My Program:
10 minutes of exercise each morning before showering, even if just gentle stretches

10 minutes of exercises every evening. Dumbells, stretching

Ride my bike every evening the weather will allow.

Begin swimming twice weekly

Personal Information:
I am 54. Recent tests show I have high inflammation levels (chronic, for many years) and am pre-diabetic.
Pain prevents me from exercising the way I want to, so I have to be creative, and I'm going to have to be much more disciplined! I have never been a runner, but dearly want to be. Recent knee pain stopped me after two weeks of C25K, and led to the tests the doc did on me. I am going to be a runner. I'm going to do this, if it takes me a year to get back out on the pavement without pain. Even if it takes longer.

I have 2 beautiful granddaughters who live an hour away, ages 2 1/2, and 3 months. I dearly want to take them hiking and on other adventures as they get older.

Other Information:
The food tracker is my most vital tool. As long as I track, I lose.
