I am a health junky. i have studied (and possibly tried) every trend out there from vegan to Atkins to raw food etc. Since starting with Spark people a few years ago, I have moved across the world, dropped 40lbs (gained 20 back after moving and a running injury) and have started back on my goal road. I am currently training for my 3rd 1/2 marathon which will be a new challenge as it is half trail, half road. I have also become firmly convinced of the Nourishing Traditions way of eating which emphasizes fat in the diet, unprocessed, unaltered and NATURALLY Raised animal products. Since getting all these fat soluble vitamins back in my diet I feel awesome. It's hard sometimes going against the low fat and convenience food culture. If you're interested in finding out more about the Cholesterol myth and the catastrophic effects of low fat/ diet heart theory thinking, I have some resources below with well documented scientific studies to support this.

My Goals:
I'd like to drop a couple of sizes, partially to avoid buying new clothes and partially to try to improve my running times.

My Program:
I have been eating a modified paleo diet for awhile (modified because I allow Real Dairy -- which basically means completely unpasteurized, unhomogenized etc dairy from animals raised outside in open pasture and grazing on grass like nature intended) I recently began ketoadapting for training purposes. I also run mid distance and am training for my third 1/2 marathon and I do pilates/ballet pilates.

Personal Information:
I am originally from the Southwest U.S. and currently live in the Scottish midlands. Prior to moving here from the US I had worked in the Healthcare field with a B.S. in a health related field as well as multiple certifications in Health Coaching. Through research I have gradually come to embrace the fact that rather than pushing pills and vaccines the medical profession should be teaching nutrition and lifestyle modification as the basis of most illness especially chronic illness and cancers. This journey has included research into most different paths of nutritional and natural therapies from juicing and raw foods, Ayurvedic, veganism, etc to my current belief. That said, I am firmly convinced that there is no one right answer for anyone's health. This, however, is what works for me and my family.
