Thanks for your response to my Goal post. I live in what I like to call beautiful Northern California. I remember attending a workshop decades back and our workshop leader commented about how overtaken she was by the beauty when the plane made it's decent into the airport and she said, "You guys live in God's country!"
California is an incredibly diverse place geographically. The birds that I see around the reservoir delight me. 978 days ago

Just google "calculate BMR." Several websites will come up. Choose one or three, fill in the values and compare between all sources of info. 1202 days ago

Another Sparker was talking about depression and I was suggesting that a life without sugar was the way to go. I wanted to send her a link to an article or two and I found this one to be quite interesting. I thought you might find value in it too. http://www.everydayhealth.com/columns/th erese-borchard-sanity-break/why-sugar- poison-depression/ 1210 days ago

It's not easy being sugar free. And you wont be prepared for how much people get angry with you for NOT eating sugar. Why, just the other day, my FIL, who is an MD (!!!) got kind pf angry with my refusal of sugar telling me that my so-called symptoms are "all in my head." I just about hit the roof. Right, I'm 55 and I have no idea what my body is telling me after being the best advocate for my health as I can be. Luckily my hubs stepped in and just kept saying to his dad, "No. No. Don't go there. Stop. Stop. No. No!" Truly, I have a very bad case of Candidiasis Albicans and I think I have had it since childhood. Some days are better than others, but generally once you have a yeast overgrowth that goes systemic it's very hard to make it go away. I was on a cleanse for a year and a half and still go on cleanses about 3-4 times a year for 30 to 60 days, depending on how bad I feel. I have avoided sugar for over three years, that is for sure BUT I have eaten it accidentally and it HAS caused huge problems the next day...you know, once the sugar has had time to be eaten by the yeast and the yeast have time to poop. The yeast poop is toxic and those toxins, when released by the yeast organism give me 100's of physical symptoms and vicious mood swings. 1210 days ago
