May 8, 2011 - Yup, so it's been two years since I updated this. I now have another baby, a beautiful boy born Jan 25. Time to lose the baby weight again! I never lost the last 5 pounds I had gained with my daughter so my goal is to lose what I had gained from both pregnancies. It is going much easier this time, probably because chasing a toddler is a workout! I am about 12 pounds from my goal.

April 17 - So Amber was born on March 7 and it's been nearly 6 weeks. My highest weight while I was pregnant was 180 and now I'm about 150. Most of that weight loss is baby (obviously), other tissue/fluid associated with the baby, plus LOTS of water weight - yes I am happy to get my ankles back! I think I've lost maybe 10 lbs of fat after my weight stabilized after the birth. I attribute that to nursing because I have not exercised except for a little walking and housework and haven't changed my diet (I may be eating less but it wasn't a conscious choice). I will go for my doc appointment on April 22 and hopefully he'll clear me to start working out again!

Nov 4 - Well needless to say, I've been cleared to work out for a while now. I got a membership at the YMCA since the gym on base does not have childcare, but the Y does! I've gotten back into Zumba and it makes me feel so good! I think the mirrors in there make you look taller or something because I always see myself as thinner when I am at Zumba class. My baby girl is growing so fast and eating all the things that mommy and daddy eat with lots of exceptions - anything healthy and non-allergenic that she can mash with her gums I let her try. I hope by introducing her to all the things we eat that as she grows up she will have a healthy relationship with food.

I am almost back into my pre-pregnancy clothes. My body has changed shape, especially the tummy and hips. I am fortunate to have a hubby that loves my "ruined" tummy since it is a sign that I helped bring his daughter into the world. However, some of my clothes don't seem to care for my tummy, haha! When I reach my goal weight I will have to reward myself with a couple new outfits that flatter my "new" body. I am only 6 pounds away and only a month left to achieve my goal of being at pre-pregnancy weight by 9 months after Amber was born. I know I can do it! I have already lost so much!

Work out at least 3 times per week, working up to 5 times.

Strength train 1-3 times per week.

Focus on protein and veggies and small treats
