Yeah, I know we mtb knuckle draggers in SW Pennsylvania have it good. Means a lot to be able to ride to the trailhead, vs. loading up the rig on a car. Plus there is a plethora of good riding within an hour or so. Our local cycling advocacy groups are active in collaborating with the city/county folks to make sure that trail building/maintenance is occurring. If I had to go super far to taste dirt, I'd probably end up becoming a roadie to get my fix.

I like that IMBA had been doing more stuff with helping develop urban bike parks, with the skinnies, etc. Gets more people involved in our sport.

Other goals on the bike? Hmmm, good question. My long term goals include wanting to do the full local race series (XC, CX, Super D), initially I had goals of placing top 3 in at least one race...yeah, we'll see how that goes.

I've also been playing with the idea of entering an Adventure Race (kayaking, cycling, running) but have been balking because I'd have to A) learn how to run, like, you know, runners and B) the time it would take away from cycling to develop that skill so I didn't completely suck. That's my 2-3 year plan, at least.

Hard to maintain that balance between life and cycling, especially with family obligations, you know how it goes.

Hey, have you tried the Men's Health Belly Off dvds? I've got the 15 minute workout and the Strength Training one, both very good, highly recommended. My wife likes the strength training one a lot.

No kidding, sometimes the little ones bail so bad and you wonder how they walk away from it with minor scrapes and laughing. I write it off to being young and able to rebound quickly, vs. being old and creaky.
