Welcome to Sparkpeople! It's a great tool, but you have to really want to change. Case in point, I joined a couple of years ago, but after working so hard to lose 15 lbs, I fell off the wagon. I got it into my head that I could do it "on my own" ...that I just knew my body better etc. Pretty soon, I was making excuses for myself. "I just don't have time for all that calorie tracking, exercise, etc. Well, I was in for a rude awakening. Last September, I auditioned for a theater role in a musical production. I got the role and I fell back in love with theater again. Right after that, I landed another role during which time I injured my leg. Nothing serious, but a muscular injury that still is not all the way healed. So, I kept putting off diet & exercise "waiting to heal". Recently, I joined a theater workshop and Wednesday's night activities really brought home to me exactly how out-of-shape my body actually is. I came to the hard conclusion that if I want to continue with an activity that I really love, I'd better do something about my lack of mobility. So, it is back to Sparkpeople that I came! I was and have been welcomed back to a great group of people on here called GOG, Girls of God, a Christian support group. Myself and most of these others need to lose 100 lbs. or more. The best advice I can give is for you to be active with a group. Post and encourage one another and keep a journal of the entire journey! Good luck and stay motivated. By the way, the reason I clicked on your page is that my mom's maiden name was "Spicer". I don't know what your faith is, but I believe that God sends people into our lives for a reason! My prayers are with you as you take your steps towards better health!
