    hi fellow sparker, i was playing in the game room and came across the long islanders team..started checking it out and saw your intro post..i was also born in brooklyn, bushwick section, and moved to ozone park when i was 13 yrs old...stayed in oz, married, had kids and after 39 yrs there am now in north bellmore..i had trouble getting used to the quiet here and actually miss the jets going over my roof on their way to kennedy!..i used to love to go down crossbay and watch the sst, or go over to charles park and just sit and day dream..your family is beautiful..i wish you success on your quest for fitness, i see you're just about at goal..good for you!..have a great week...hugs..theresa.

    Hey! Thanks for the welcome on my page! You can meet your goals. I had a problem with portion control as well. What am I talking about!?! I still have a problem. I love food...cooking and eating it. My thing is...I don't want to waste money so I eat everything on my plate when I go out to eat. I've stopped eating out as much and when I do, my daughter and I have made a pact to share one meal together. (My son is a skinny minny and loves to eat so, I can't share w/ him. ha ha) ALSO, I felt that it wasn't right to make dinner for the kids and not eat the meal with them even when I wasn't hungry. So, when I'm not hungry, I always let them know that I'm going to just eat cereal for dinner when I do get hungry. I still sit down at the table with them when they eat. Sometimes, by the time I finish dinner, I am actually hungry. That's when I have to be sure I use my small plates and only put small amounts on the plate. I don't put the food on the table so I would actually have to get up to serve myself a second helping. It usually works. If I want something sweet, I just make myself a cup of tea with 2 sweet n lows in it. It makes it extra sweet and it takes longer to drink since it's so hot. Hope this helps a little bit.
