I’m Carla and I have too many titles to put ‘em on this page. I’ve had an off and on love affair with working out my whole life. Kind of like the last 12 + years with my husband. We live in a small town about 50 miles outside of St. Louis with our sons, and very large cat (no, Jeffrey, mommy didn’t mean that).

I was pretty active as a child, just doing kid stuff. You know the things that kids now simulate with video games. Even with a birth defect and many, many surgeries I was able to keep up with everyone else. Except in size (I’m only 4’10.5” – don’t forget the .5”). Playing ball with the neighborhood kids, dance classes, cheerleading, and a ton of walking, hiking, and getting around on my two feet kept me pretty fit. And it was fun!

Eating healthy, though, wasn’t exactly on the agenda. I’m pretty sure that me and my dad single handedly kept Pepsico in business from the ‘70’s thoughout the late ‘80’s. Mountain Dew flowed like a river from the can to our lips.

But I did eat some good stuff. I was the one that was more likely to ask for fruit or vegetables. My sister liked Little Debbie’s. Yet she is still the most beautiful and thin of the two of us. Maybe I should change my whole outlook.

I went to night school and obtained my B.S. in Psychology from Central Methodist University. There’s not much you can do with a Psychology degree, luckily the research component served me well and I can research like nobody’s business. It doesn’t sound like much but my boss appreciates it.

I’m also a certified fitness trainer through ISSA…clearly that doesn’t make me the most fit person in the world. It just means I do know how to get and stay fit. My weight has fluctuated up and down within a 20 pound range throughout my adult life. Get fit, get tired, get fat. Rinse repeat. I wish there was a pause button after the fit part.

I work hard to stay healthy and fit but I also have my down times. I'm hoping to be more consistent and live to a ripe old age!

My Goals:
I would love to race a 5K and also be in a bodybuilding (bikini or figure categories).

My Program:
Right now I'm doing Zumba two days a week, boot camp one day, and doing the couch to 5K program. It's a little cardio heavy but I'm having fun and enjoying it.
