Hi Lyn. I just returned from a tour in my campervan over the past 4 weeks catching up with friends and relatives in both the North and South Islands. I called in to my brother in Ravensbourne last night and his very steep entrance caused some superficial damage underneath the camper which required some temporary repairs in the pouring rain. Rather than stay overnight I decided on a cuppa and back to Invercargill. So no chance to meet up this time unfortunately. Had a great trip up the west coasts as far as Thames, the back down the east. Kaikoura was a real drag with all the road works that still continue after such a long time span since the earthquake. No more health problems since the stent was installed over Easter so probably dodged a bullet there - thank you Lord!

Hi Lyn, thank you for your query. All good here in Invervegas. My son and I are hunkered down for the duration. He is painting the house but has run out of paint for the walls. He is a fitness freak so disappears for 3 hours on his bike on a training run often. I either put in some time on my rower and weights or as per this morning a 90 minute walk around the neighbourhood. Lots of people out with similar intentions all practising social separation. I came back from Oz with approximately 300 movies and TV series that I downloaded from daughter's computer onto my hard drive so gradually working my way thru those. I also have plenty of books on my Sony reader as well as others downloaded from Kobo and Amazon - plenty to keep me occupied so I don't get bored. I am also a great fan of Sudoku and cryptic crosswords so that's where I spend some time most days. Best wishes to you and yours keeping safe in your bubble.

Hi Lyn, I returned yesterday from what was supposed to be a 2 day trip to Alexandra for a game of bowls the day after Boxing day. While there a friend asked if I could take the place of his ex-partner in the pairs at Roxburgh on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd so agreed to delay my return to help out. While in Central I had a game of golf and 2 other games of bowls prior to the pairs. We ended up winning the pairs so it was a good start to the new year. Happy New Year to you and your whanau, I hope we can catch up soon. I will possibly be coming through Dunedin next week on my way back from ChCh. I have to take the campervan up there for a recall regarding the hot water system so it will depend when they can do it. Long way to go for a 30 minute job!
