Small steps. Every day. Small actions will help me deal with the stress. Small actions will help me feel healthier. Small actions will help me be a better wife, a better mother, a better employee, a better person. Small actions lead to big results.

Each day I eat right and exercise I strengthen the armor that keeps the world from beating up on me.

This is not a short term project. It will never be 'over' It's a lifelong commitment to treating myself well and helping me get and stay healthy.

The progress is in small increments -- but it is progress!

"If compulsive eating is anything, it's a way we leave ourselves when life gets hard. When we don't want to notice what is going on. Compulsive eating is a way we distance ourselves from the way things are when they are not how we want them to be." Page 37 from "Women, Food, & God" by Geneen Roth

Even if the scale isn't budging, that does not mean that you're not making major progress toward losing weight and getting healthier. You can lose inches, get fitter, gain lean muscle mass, drop body fat, become better hydrated, look better and feel more energized without the pounds budging at all.

To see yourself as the "new" you, you need to do things you could not do before you lost weight. Take on a new adventure that your weight previously prevented you from doing. As you conquer new physical challenges, your former image will begin to break down and allow you to see yourself more realistically.

"Finish each day
And be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and
Absurdities have crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can."

Move on with your life. Keep reaching for your goals and you will achieve them. One minor setback is nothing if you really want something and are willing to work for it.

My Goals:
Get healthy. Lower blood pressure. Healthy sugar level

I want to work up to running a 5K. Just because I'm a long ways away from that doesn't mean it can't be a goal.

My Program:
I'm working hard to eat a healthier diet that contains more whole grains, fruits and vegatables and less refined sugar and fat. I'm working towards working out 4-5 times a week.

Personal Information:
I'm a working mom from New Jersey who has finally committed to treating herself better.
