I like this note about depression. I am Bi-Polar...usually on the depression side. A friend asked me how it felt to be depressed, and it was very hard for me to describe. I saw this quote in a book, and thought it was good information for everyone.
“If you know someone who’s depressed, please resolve never to ask them why. Depression isn’t a straightforward response to a bad situation; depression just is, like the weather.

“If you know someone who’s depressed, please resolve never to ask them why. Depression isn’t a straightforward response to a bad situation; depression just is, like the weather.
Try to understand the blackness, lethargy, hopelessness, and loneliness they’re going through. Be there for them when they come through the other side. It’s hard to be a friend to someone who’s depressed, but it is one of the kindest, noblest, and best things you will ever do.”

My Goals:
To be healthy and active.
To be able to hike without huffing and puffing on the uphill parts of the trail.
To remember that food is first and foremost - FUEL.
My Program:
Be aware of my portion sizes.
Use my Wii Fit+ regularly.
Use my pedometer to track my daily steps.
Manage my bi-polar and depression symptoms so I don't resort to eating to make myself feel better.
Personal Information:
I'm a 50-something female living in Southern California, U.S.A.
I'm blessed to be married (over three decades) to my best friend, the nicest man I've ever met.
I like to make quilts, which are donated either to our local battered women's shelter or to wounded soldiers.
I like motorcycle riding. I had to give up riding my own due to medical problems, but still enjoy riding with my husband.
Other Information:
I know this is a lifestyle change; a marathon, not a sprint.
I'm going to take this day by day, meal by meal, and snack by snack.
I'm not expecting myself to be perfect.
