I thought I would finally change the text on this page, after nearly a year and a half. A lot has changed.

I have struggled with weight issues my entire adult life, especially since leaving college and settling into life at a desk. I finally started getting concerned after turning 40 (and as I kept gaining weight) when my doctor started raising blood pressure issues. I was struggling with GERD (or something similar) as well, and finally decided it was time to do something.

Someone suggested Spark People so I signed up, I really like the way the entire experience is geared toward being positive and supportive. I need that.

Since starting SP in April of 2010 I've lost 70 pounds and gained a lot of my health back. I'm running four or five days a week and lifting weights and looking for other activities. I've changed my diet almost entirely and made other changes as well. But I still have a way to go.

My Goals:
I had ninety pounds to go, now only 20!

Other goals: Run a marathon before I'm 50. Run a half marathon before I do that. Maybe I should try a 10k before THAT.

I want my waist to be flat when viewed from the side. No belly hanging down.



My Program:
Lifting weights 3X a week, walking 3X or more a week (usually five). Adding more activities as fitness allows, such as cycling or soccer.

    It's been a long time since I said that, or anything! I dropped out of SP for about a year. The consequences were disastrous!!! I went from that 127 to 140!!! It happened slowly at 1st then quickly after 135. I hate everything about the way I look. Plus I'm older now too!!! UGH! Guys are so lucky they don't have all those nit picky details! Anyway, I'm making my way back slowly. I have been working out since Jan. 15th with no results. I know my cardio is lacking cuz my treadmill is out of commission & I always hated running anyway!!! YUCK! I am no longer obsessed with the #'s on the scale! I just want to be able to fit into my clothes agin without stuff bubbling over everywhere! HAHA!
