When I was young, I never had a problem with weight and never thought about food. When I went to college and stopped participating in sports (and 1, discovered that I liked trying new foods and 2, had no idea how much food I should be eating), I began a slow and steady weight gain that hit its peak almost a decade later.

My weight was the highest it's ever been in 2003. I got down to my then goal weight in 2004 (dropping 25 pounds), but yo--yoed within a 10 pound range since then.

I'm finally ready to stop hovering on the edge of a healthy weight. I believe that gaining and losing a few pounds over time is normal, but I want my entire weight range--both the high and low ends--to be firmly in the "healthy" zone, rather than immediately entering the "overweight" zone the minute I gain a pound or two.

My goal range is 120-125 pounds. I made it there in 2010, which was a great accomplishment, but drifted back up out of that range by the start of 2011.

So now, my goal is to get back there and really learn to maintain. Learning has been such a huge part of this process for me--learning what foods I like, learning how to cook, learning how much I should be eating--and this is just a new thing to learn.

I look forward to setting my tracker to a maintenance range very soon! :)

My Goals:
To maintain a weight between 117 and 123.

My Program:
I've lost weight mostly with dietary changes. My daily life is decently active--I walk to and from work, ride my bike, do yard work--and I don't want maintaining my goal weight to require excessive time spent at the gym or in formal workouts.

If I want to work on toning or strength or greater cardio fitness once I'm at my goal weight, I will, but for now, the focus is on remaining active in useful daily ways and EATING RIGHT!

Portion control is my biggest challenge, and I'm learning so much from the SP community!
