    first off emoticon on the no soda ...i know how hard that can be ----- yes i have told people about this new page in my life as well - but sometimes i feel that they dont fully take me seriously because i am always trying to loose weight ...and in the end just failing.......but not this time!! thank you for the encouragement - hope u have a good night!!!!

    I see you are new member to Spark and to the Mesa team. I also saw your post about eating boring food. The food is as boring as you want to make it.
    You make it what you want. You have tweak your recipes to make them healthier, you have to try new recipes that are low fat. You also need to change you mindset on what you can and cannot eat.
    When I started I had to stay away from all the bad foods, french fries, hamburgers, ice cream, cake, cookies. I stayed away unitl I knew I could handle being around them and NOT go overborad. I can now enjoy a lean turkey burger on a 100 calories hamburger bun (Nature's Own white wheat) I don't eat French Fries anymore and I am ok with that, but I will have a couple (just two) from my husband if we are out to eat, most of the time I have none. I will have a teaspoon ful of ice cream, just to taste it, and I am satisfied. I can now eat one cookie (I've got a recipe for a great tasting oatmeal cookie that is 77 calories). So it is all about moderation. You don't have to deprive yourself, you have to change the way you think about food and the way you eat forever. You can't lose the weight and then go back to eating the way that got you to the weight you are now! I started out at over 300lbs. and now weigh 194 lbs. I'm not finished but I will get there.

    hello!!! my name is beth ... i am also 28 and it seems that we both have one priority in loosing weight and that would be for our children!!! would love to have u as a friend-- the hardest part for me in all of this ..is that i cant stay motivated!! if we could motivate eachother in this maybe it just might work emoticon
