I am a certified personal trainer, but I'm not the kind you're used to. I grew up with extra weight. I was somewhat active as a kid but I ate and ate and ate until I couldn't eat anymore. When I was 17 I hit my peak weight of 240lbs and wore a size 24W. Towards the end of high school I began adopting healthier habits...and bit by bit, pound by pound much of the weight has come off. I've maintained at 180lbs since then. Two years ago I decided to go back to school to become a personal trainer. I have my own business in which I train with clients one on one. I also teach many Zumba classes each week.

My goal is to maintain healthy habits. If I lose more weight that's great, but its not my goal. I want to be stronger, I want to eat cleaner, I want to get my binge eating addiction under control.

So that's me. I've been there, I know a lot about getting healthy, but I'm also still working through it. If you'd like to get advice, give advice, or just share your thoughts about health and fitness I'd love to chat :-)

My Goals:
Maintain good fitness and nutrition, create and experience joy daily, conquer the things that scare the crap out of me, live my life large

My Program:
Exercise - daily exercise in some way, even if its just a hike or salsa dancing with my cats in the living room. Try to increase strength training (AKA picking up heavy things and putting them back down)

Eat many whole unprocessed foods. Stay within a reasonable calorie range without daily tracking. Limit sugar, simple carbs, and shove as many vegetables into my pie hole as possible. NO MORE BINGING!

Mental - Remind my self each and every day to be thankful for my amazing body. Flaunt my curvy hips and shapely shoulders, forgive and accept my soft belly and thighs.

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do
