You cannot become what you want by staying what you are.

God bless you and yours forever.

    You are welcome.

I too find the letter writing to be therapeutic. I have done it two deceased people, my best friend who took her own life (I felt she let a lot of people down) and my brother who died of a stroke at the age of 40 - the only underlying problem was diabetis (which I understand later he became lax in taking care of). Just last month I felt ready to let go, and deleted the letters from my computer.

I am sure our "boys" will turn to us when they are ready, we just need to keep loving them and praying for them.

Take care and feel free to keep in touch and to vent.

Thanks for the encouraging note on my blog. I do pray, and I don't think I'd make it otherwise. Like you, I sometimes feel like the Lord has more confidence in my ability to overcome my circumstances than I have in myself. I finally reached bottom, and there's nowhere to go but up from here. I started writing long letters to my son last night, which I have no intention of mailing. It's my therapy to feel like I'm "talking" to him. It is also a means of having a journal of sorts to share with him if he ever comes back into my life. There is so much of what is in my life right now that I want him to know about; the letters are my way of recording it for the future. I am putting on a positive attitude that he will come back. I am giving him to the Lord, and trusting the Lord will give him back to me someday. What makes this especially difficult is the fact that this is my only child. I have no comfort of other children. The Lord knows this, and I ask him every day to give me strength and comfort to deal with the situation.

I will be praying for you and your situation as well.
