Hi, I'm Rachel and I'm out to lose about 30 pounds (although I'll settle for 20-25). It seems with every decade I take on another 10 pounds, despite being a avid exerciser. I realize that I'm at the age where I can't ignore this anymore. I don't want to spend the second half of my life growing fatter and suffering from health complications. I want to love the way I look.

I do my best to stay active. I am at the gym 3-5 times a week doing weights along with various kinds of cardio. I study tap and jazz dancing and love riding my 3 horses Baby, Jenna, and Riddle. Exercise is like breathing for me. My body needs and craves it.

My Goals:
Lose 30 pounds
Remove 2-3 inches off my waist and hips

How will I achieve this?
Make sure every meal is heavy on vegetables
Make sure I eat just enough and not too much at each meal
Exercise consistently
Challenge myself to go as long as I can without sweets


My Program:
Sunday: AM weight training, PM horseback riding
Monday: 90 minute tap/jazz dance class
Tuesday: AM weight training
Wednesday: 30 minutes steady state cardio, 10-15 minutes intervals or Zumba class.
Thursday: Yoga class
Friday: 30 minutes steady state cardio (bike or elliptical), 10-15 minutes intervals
Saturday: Horseback riding



Personal Information:
I'm from the NYC suburbs and work a boring day job, but enjoy lots of hobbies like reading, cooking. theater, dance, and horseback riding.

I love to cook, which can be both detrimental and useful in weight loss. Detrimental because I love to bake. Useful because I have control over what's on my plate.
