I am back at sparks after a long absence. I have regained about 20 lbs. so I am dedicating my summer to getting back to my goal weight. I reached it in 2015 and sadly I need to do it again.

Update 7-4-15
I have reached my final GW. I am down 35 pounds since this time last year and feel awesome! I am now starting maintenance and want to keep my weight between 150-155 lbs. I am currently at 152.

Update 3-1-15
I have been able to maintain my 22 lb. weight loss for 5 months. I have never been able to maintain any loss for more than a few weeks, so I am beyond thrilled!. Now that I have successfully kept the weight off, I am setting out to lose 10 more pounds. My new goal weight will be 155lbs. I'm hoping to reach it before the start of summer.

Update 10-18-14
I have lost 5 more lbs. to reach my GW of 165 lbs. I am 42 years old and in the last 3.5 months I have gone from my heaviest of 187lbs. to the lightest I have been since my late 20's! I am now ready to start maintenance. I can't believe I actually made it his time around! I want to maintain my for 5-6 months before deciding if I want to lose more or stop.

Update - 9-13-14
I have reached my original goal weight of 170lbs. It took me about 10 weeks. I am now at a healthy weight. I am back into all my clothes and some are even too big! I am the lightest I have been in about 10 years and I feel great.

Although I am thrilled that I reached my original goal weight, I feel I need to lose a little more. I'm just not quite where I want to be yet. So, I am now aiming on losing about 5-7 more lbs. so that I will be at least 165 when I start maintenance.

Hi, my name is Amy and I am 42 years old and am a teacher. I am here at sparks to hopefully lose the weight I've gained over the last few years.

During my thirties my weight went up and down, but when it was all said and done, I turned 40 about 10 lbs. heavier than I was when I turned 30. Although I was a little heavier, I was still at a healthy weight for my 5"11 height and had little motivation to do too much about it.

Since turning 40 (only 2 years ago) I have already gained 10 more lbs.! I am the HEAVIEST I have ever been and for the first time in my life I am slightly OVERWEIGHT!!! I am almost 20 lbs away from where I want to be and it is time to do something about it.

I have been on maintenance for about 15 months. It is a process. I still weigh/measure everything. I weigh myself daily or more to watch my body's reaction to different foods and activities. I see it all as a giant science experiment, though. emoticon It is NOT time to go back to old habits!

"I am working on portion control too, especially with snacking. I am avoiding ice cream altogether because I know I won't be able to eat just 1/2 cup! Good luck on your journey. "

Thank you for your kind comments .. Snacking .. I try and only do when I am truly hungry .. or else it's veggies .. If I start snacking .. My "clean mouth" is no longer clean, and it just continues .. lol .. Ice cream is the hardest for me .. My hubby likes to "treat me" to tubs of ice cream .. I am thinking of instead of "dessert at the end of my dinner" .. trying to make my "ice cream treat" as weekend only .. THAT will need will power .. lol lol ..

Have a wonderful day .. and feel free to "steal any ideas" from me that you want .. :) Sometimes I come up with good ones .. lol
