I am a 25 year old college student, who's hit some bumps in the road of life.

Several years ago I was diagnosed with Fibrolyalgia, and that began the downward spiral in my life. I started having problems in school and holding down a job, with friends, and most of all my body. The pain and sleep disturbances I had led to extra pounds, a more sedentary lifestyle, and me missing out on a lot of things I used to enjoy. In the last year all of these problems culminated, and I had to leave school, my significant other of 4 years left me, and I closed myself off from most of the positive influences in my life.

After a few months of being depressed about all of this, I decided I could either give into my body and give up on the life I wanted, or I could do something about it. I decided that trying to force my health problems to work within my lifestyle wasn't working, and instead I would need to make my life work with my health problems.

Over the past 6-8 months I have put in a lot of hard work to get over my depression, find the right combination of medications, therapies, and coping strategies to get pain and sleep problems under control, reconnect with friends and family, and prepare myself for going back to school. I've been pretty successful so far, but I have take it as far as I can go alone. For the remainder of my goals I need some outside help. Being the stubborn know it all that I am I turned to this website because it provides me with the tools I need while still allowing me to retain some control.

I am here to reap the benefits I can from a healthy lifestyle (including better moods, pain relief, getting sick less often), and lose weight. Wish me luck!

My Goals:
~Get back into shape and be strong again
~Lose weight, and fit back into my favorite dress again
~Control pain and other symptoms
~Enjoy the happy, feel good benefits of exercise again


My Program:
I love good food, so rather than deny myself I am trying to limit how much of a tasty goodness I eat rather than completely eliminate it. Since this alone won't get me to where I want to be I've also started to get my daily news fix on the treadmill instead of my favorite chair, and hike and/or strength train with friends.
