September 2009

"Don't Quit"

When things go wrong as they sometimes will;
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill;

January 2009
In many ways, I did succeed last year with my resolution; however, none of those successes had to do with weight loss. This year, I am focusing on only two things: losing the weight, and getting my finances more securely in order. My fiance and I have joined with my parents playing "Biggest Loser," amongst ourselves, starting today (January 2, 2009), and each put in $20 for a grand prize to the winner at the end. During this journey, we will be working together, getting fit, eating more nutritiously, and losing that weight! I will be updating my b log here much more often to keep me motivated throughout this process, as well. 2009 will be my year!!

January 2008
My New Year's Resolutions this year all fit into one category. M4. I've always had lengthy lists of resolutions, but looking at those lists all the time was daunting. I've found that reducing those long lists to a simple, short "mantra", if you will, has really helped me stay on track so far.

Fitness Minutes: 20,568

My Goals:
Eventually, I want to get down to a weight of 175-190. My "ideal" weight "should" be around 159 lbs., but my doctor admits that for my body type, 175 is a much healthier goal weight for me.
My other goal is to gain control over my life - and more importantly, take control over myself.

My Program:
As of October 16, I have joined Weight Watchers, which I will follow along with SparkPeople. From October 16 through November 21, I have lost my first 10 lbs (13, actually), and WILL have lost 15 total by Christmas. I am constantly looking for "safe" food replacements for my favorite snacks, and am slowly making myself more active over all.

Personal Information:
I graduated from high school weighing 240lbs in 2000. By 2003, I was at 280. By 2006, I was at 310. In 2009 I briefly hit the 340's, then committed to sparkpeople and lost 25 lbs. I stepped away from sparkpeople, and quickly gained back much of the weight, topping out again in October of 2011 at 339 lbs. Never again. I joined Weight Watchers, and with the help of my support system, I will not only never see the 330's again, but will first get to 299, then 274, and then will get under 240 for the first time since the turn of the century. ;)
