Introduction Text I am a 40-something mom of a teen and wife of a wonderful man (almost 2 decades!). I really love to be active, and growing up I always got told that I wasn't because I was overweight. Amazing the lies we believe and keep believing! Anyhow, one year I took a job at an Adventure Centre and thanks to my certifications I was busy at the waterfront and working with kids, and one day I remember asking the leader, "why don't you ever put me in crafts?" And she said, "You seemed like too much of a jock." What??? Me??? Yeah, turns out at ANY weight you can be "a jock". Now, as the years go by, I find that I am worried about my body keeping up with my energy level. I want to be able to keep buzzing around. Yeah, I dont lifeguard or teach kids to kayak anymore, but I still love the feeling of oxygenated blood pumping through me! I am here to loose a few pounds...about 30...so that I can head into my middle years with zeal and confidence.
