Glad you are here. I've learned a lot from Richard Bernstein M.D. who has 18 lectures on YouTube on diabetes. His book THE DIABETES SOLUTION is very interesting. He's a healthy 80 even though he has had Type 1 diabetes since he was 12.
Hi I have been there and back and over the last five years I have become even more over weight. Seems the lose of my daughter and husband hit me to the point I eat to fill the void. Raising two of her children has been the joy in my life but there still has been such a empty feeling and things just are not the same. Holidays, dinners, traditions are not the same. Sometimes people tend to run all over me and I allow them to get away with it. I now have been feeling terrible due to arthritis, newly diagnosed with diabetes. My stress level is high because money is an issue and it looks like things are going to get worse. I survive on SS and now they are not giving an increase to us. Yet will be charging more for Medicare. Finding a job working the hours I am available is not easy. If I have to pay sitters why bother working. I am going to be 70 and places don't really want to hire us older people. Guess they figure its not worth training someone that may not be able to work for a long period of time. Anyway doctor said I have to lose 50 lbs. then the diabetes may reverse. I sure hope so. I started at 243. and now have lost a few lbs. Please pray I can keep it up.
