absolutely!!! I even bought a walk workout from Amazon by Jessica Smith.

Try to get your heart rate up and keep it there for 20 minutes for the best results, but if you don't have time or can't, work up to it or do it in 10 minute increments.

The main thing is that you're moving! emoticon

I think it does. You're moving and if you do it long enough, you'll work up a sweat.

I know walking inside including using Leslie's various walking programs has helped me and been a great way to exercise especially if I can't get outside. I think for me I get more of a workout doing that than if I'm walking outside actually (like today walking outside and stopping for traffic lights)

I do her 3 mile workout for 46 minutes off of YouTube for my first cardio of the day and I'm drenched in sweat after, on purpose as I tend to turn off the air in my room and zip up a fleece jacket over my sweat pants and long sleeve shirt. If I don't warm up like this my joints ache.

Leslie Sansone's Walk Away The Pounds videos can be great exercise. I have some at home and they are more than "walking in place". She has you move forwards, backwards, and to the side. Personally, I have to get my arms more involved than what she demonstrates to ensure I am getting my heart rate into the cardio zone.

In addition to the exercise suggestions the other posters have provided, I would like to clarify something you said. Weight loss is more about nutrition (80%) than exercise (20%). You can't out exercise lousy food choices. If you haven't started using the SP nutrition tracker, I'd encourage you to do that.

Another SparkPeople tool is the exercise finder here:

According to what I read on Leslie's own site, she says between 100 and 150 calories per mile and then more or less based on weight and body conditioning. Anyway, there's a bunch you can do right in front of the TV in a five foot circle if you have a smart TV and find the SparkPeople, Leslie Sansone and many other videos on Youtube and Amazon videos if you have Prime. All within a five foot circle and nobody watching.

You might also want to check out the workouts on SparkPeople TV (click on Videos at the top of the page) b/c many of those can be done without equipment, and all can be done at home.

I"m trying to become more active during the day. I work from home but usually I'm pretty sedentary all day unless I go to the gym (3 x a week). I want to add in more workouts at home but I wasn't sure how to do this as I don't like walking on roads and I don't have equipment at home. After researching at home, I came across walking in place (eg leslie sansone's videos) and it seems like a good option for me but i'm wondering if it still has the same affects/benefits with weight loss. Has anyone else had success losing weight with it? Thanks.
