A taller person may cover more distance per stride, but they are also burning more calories per stride, as it takes more effort to move the leg through a longer distance.
I agree with Coach Nancy - it is the total distance walked that matters.

Leg length is not a factor when it comes to a walking test, such as the Rockport Walking test--it's the amount of distance covered in the time.

I read the time gauge of the walk fitness test, for my age and being female, but is here an adjustment for length of legs? I have short legs and when I walk with someone with long legs I can barely keep up.
