My kids liked make your own pizza night. We use low cal pitas as the base, we can then do a maranaria sauce, reduced fat cheeses, veggies.

For the kids we buy turkey peperoni and for the parents we top with proscitto.

I make this once a week, my kids and DH love it. Change up the shape of your pasta to keep it interesting !! I use ziti, wagon wheels, seashells, twisty's , spaghetti, flat linguine etc etc

1 pound your favorite shape pasta
1 pound lean ground turkey
1 small green pepper chopped really small
1 small onion chopped really small
2 cloves garlic chopped small
1 jar your favorite pasta sauce
1 teaspoon dried basil

Cook pasta to box directions

While pasta is boiling, saute green pepper, onion and garlic in a bit of olive oil. Cook about 5 minutes then add the ground turkey and stir often to make ground turkey almost crumble.

Drain pasta, then place pasta back into the pasta pot
Add the turkey mixture to the pasta pot and add the sauce and seasonings. Stir well

Serve with some parmasan cheese if you like. Add a salad too. My kids love chopped romaine lettuce, croutons and ceasar dressing for a kid friendly ceasar salad. ( no anchovies no slices of romano cheese )

Have your kids help. They are old enough to wash lettuce and tear it into bite size pieces. I always found if my kids helped to cook, they would eat it !!

What are your normal recipes?

I'm thinking to allow your husband to use spices as condiments, like a shot of tabasco or powdered spices in a shaker bottle, or to get him a good sauce while the daughters use ketchup.

For cooked-in spices, get a small frying pan and just transfer his portion to the extra cooking vessel, or cook in two smaller dishes for baked stuff.

I try to seek recipes that my whole family will like and am usually successful but have hit a wall where the meal is usually too bland for my husband or too spicy for my daughters. Please help!!
