I use whole wheat english muffins sometimes. I have also tried the cauliflower pizza crust. It is amazing. I have made them into 2-3 inch rounds as appetizers too. THe tortillas sound goos too... I like the crispy crusts

A tortilla makes a nice pizza crust. And I have found they are a little better than pizza dough

If you don't have a food processor, you can just grate up the cauliflower with an ordinary cheese grater.

Wholewheat bread (if you like pizza on bread).
My mom's homemade pizza made on whole wheat bread slices is the best pizza I have ever eaten in my entire life.

The cauliflower dough works really well. I am still trying to find the perfect recipe, but one hint I can give you, is to microwave the cauliflower once it's gone through the food processor, and then put it in a tea towel and squeeze out all of the moisture. Then you'll have a good product that will make a good crust that isn't soggy. I started doing this to make cauliflower "fried rice" and it is awesome!

ezekiel tortillas? wow I need to get some at my natural food store. its a ways a way from me so I'll have to save and really buy stuff as I can't go there all the time.

ezekiel tortillas - no flour no yeast no added oil - made from sprouted grain. I use the large - 150 calories. They also have small ones.

1. Put the tortilla in a george foreman grill for ten minutes at high. They get very crispy.
Sautee the veggies on the stove with broth or oil
Add marinara (I use trader joes no salt added) to the veggies add seasoning
Put on gorilla
Add cheese - broiler for minute or microwave for 30 second.

2. Put all the veggies in a folded tortilla in the grill for 10 minutes. Add the cheese the last minute or so.

Beat you to it - here is a link to the Cauliflower Pizza Crust Base - I bet you will be surprised :-) (and you can always make it higher fibre by adding some bran to the mix.)

I like Flat Out brand wraps too. I've never used it for pizza, but it should work fine.

I hate cauliflower.

Except with Green Giant cheese sauce and as pizza crust!

My husband ate the cauliflower crust and had NO idea... and he is one of those crazy picky eaters who won't eat anything healthy and is really into texture. You could always make a really little one and give it a try. I also use the pitas or flat out fold its (Hungry girl). I can cut it in half and make 2 mini pizzas really easy!

i'm trying to be reasonable about this, i'm not extremely low carb and honestly the idea of cauliflower substitutes just doesn't make my tummy rumble

You can try whole wheat tortillas. Target has a pretty good Market Pantry option. I also like Flatout wraps which can be found at a variety of grocery stores.

I haven't tried it yet, but google Cauliflour pizza and you'll find a recipe that uses Cauliflour, mozzarella cheese, and an egg as a pizza crust. No joke. It's worth a try I figure.

I am looking for a high fiber and lower calorie alternative for me, for pizza.

usually I use pita bread, whole wheat

any ideas here?
