Time and patience are all you need! I know it's frustrating with the gut (seriously, check out the title of my sparkpage!) but it will reduce in time. Our bodies draw their energy from the bloodstream, not the fat stores around the muscles we're working, so there's no way to lose weight from a specific area by doing a particular exercise.

The hangover thing can be minimized by properly fitting your clothes; I can wear a 12, comfortably, but it does cause a little muffin top... so I can't wear tighter-fitting shirts. 14s are too big, and I have to wear a belt, but no muffin top. :)

There's no way to target fat loss to specific areas of the body. But as you lose weight, eventually it will come off in those areas where you carry excess. Your plan sounds good- I would just recommend that you strength train with weights that are challenging for you. Using light weights (assuming they aren't much of a challenge) isn't going to be an effective use of your time.

Hope that helps,

Coach Jen
