Daily. As a woman my weight can swing by a few pounds everyday so I don't rely on it as a 'true' number. Rather I enter my daily weight into my SP tracker so I can get a good idea of overall trends. As other people have said, it also helps me to stay conscious of my goals and priorities. Stepping on the scale every morning and not seeing a number I'm happy with keeps my eye on the prize I guess.

Officially once a week on wednesday evenings; this goes in my online SP tracker. Unofficially, anytime of the day or afternoon or evening, as at times I have an unhealthy obsession with the reading on my scale

was doing monthly..but it seems like too far so going to start every sunday from now on

I would never weigh myself every day. I weigh myself every other Sunday, totally naked, after I pee, as soon as I get up. I find it gives me more accuracy, and helps keep me sane.

Daily, but an official weigh in only once a week. Just like to monitor my body.

I weigh once a day too. Not sure why, but I just feel the need to know how I am doing more often.

I weigh myself every morning. I know this is quite often, but it helps me stay on track. I can remember what i ate the previous day, so i know what not to eat today. When i see the number drop it give me a boost. When i see it go up , i know i must do better today..

2-4 times a day seems excessive... You're weight can change so much over that time. And waiting a few hours in the morning to burn more calories? I bet it doesn't make a lick of difference either way. This reply has me worried. I'm no expert but it sounds unhealthy.
I have weighed myself a few times on ONE day, ONCE. But the point was to prove to myself how much my weight can fluctuate during the day (4-5 pounds, apparently).
No more then once a week and you should take measurements because the scale can go up while the inches are going down. You don't want to get discouraged just because you gained 5 lbs of water weight but lost 1/2 in on your waist!

I'm actually staying away from the scale for a while. Since I am also doing strength training along with cardio, I'm hoping to build and tone muscle and burn fat rather than concentrating on losing pounds. When doing this the scale generally doesn't budge and that is kind of discouraging, so I'm paying more attention to how my clothes fit and how I look in the mirror instead of what the scale says. It just depends on what motivates you!
I weigh in daily - I like to see where I am every day BUT - I only count and track it once a week.

Everyday between 2-4 times a day. Helps keep me in check.
First one in the morning most important. Empty tummy. wait a couple of hours to burn a few extra calories, nude, hair down out of any ties, make sure to pee first, then exhale, and step on head facing forward. Look down and hope for the best.
I don't consider weight lost until it has been consistent for 3 or more days.

I'm new to SP so in the past I stayed away from the scale, however, now that I'm at the end of my first week with SP, I'm excited to get on the scale. Today is "weigh-in day" and I plan to step on the scale every Thursday morning.

I like to weigh daily. I think it helps me to understand my daily trends. I tend to lose in 2 week cycles, which I know because I have weighed nearly every day for a few months. It also helps me to understand and account for fluctuations.

I weigh myself daily as I find it helps me monitor better, but I don't obsess about it and I think that's the key. I think for some people it's better to do it only once a week as they'll obsess less about the changing numbers. It's up to you ultimately.

I'm one of those people that does not freak out about the weight fluctuations....so, I weigh myself everyday. I actually have an excel spreadsheet set up. I record my weight each day and at the end of the week, I have the average for my weekly weight...which is what I enter on this website for my weight changes.
The most common advice is to weigh once a week. That's because daily fluctuations can be up to 3-5 pounds for some people... others fluctuate less. Depends on salt intake, amount of exercise and strength training, all sorts of things.
But honestly, when I was first losing weight I would do it every single day. There was something very motivating about seeing even a half-pound loss. It also helped me really understand how I personally would go up or down in a single day, or day to day, just because of my personal salt intake, cardio, and weightlifting. I learned that I can fluctuate a LOT, just because of water retention when I eat something super salty.
These days, I'm less concerned about weight and more about muscle development and so I weigh only about once every 3-4 weeks.

You're welcome, good luck!
One more thing, if you don't see a change after one week, don't get discouraged, sometimes it can take awhile for things to really get going :)
I also weigh the most on Mondays, because I tend to eat out more and have a few adult beverages over the weekend. I don't go crazy, but the extra sodium from the restaurant food and having alcohol makes me gain some water weight. Just a little something else to keep in mind if you do the same on weekends.

thank you so much! that was so helpful :) i think I'm going to weigh in monday (that would be exactly one week), see my progress then maybe do it every other day. thanks again!!

Like Nirerin said, if you're the type to freak out if you gain a pound in a day or whatever, then weighing often is not for you.
That being said, I'm a total numbers dork, and I weigh myself every day, first thing in the morning. I also sometimes weigh myself before I go to bed because I think it's interesting to see how my weight fluctuates throughout the day.
there are a lot of studies that show that weighing everyday can help you keep on top of where your weight is trending and that means that you can react sooner. but weighing everyday can mean that some people flip out if they see their weight go up 2oz in a day and then they start drastically cutting calories. when a 5lb daily fluctuation is entirely normal and doesn't mean that you gained or lost anything. if you are one of those people see the fluctuations and freak out, you need to put the scale away as much as you can. if you can weigh daily just for extra data points and it doesn't both you, do it. just try and pick a day a week that is your "official" day and focus more on the official day from week to week to see the trends rather than the daily bobbles. again, the overall trend of your weight is what is important, and three days in a row [monday, tuesday, wednesday] don't tell you nearly as much about your weight as first thursday, second thursday, third thursday. overall trends is what you want to pay more attention to and if the day to day doesn't distract you, then you're fine to do it.
