Hi Matt, Welcome! Not sure if you are using the Nutrition and Fitness trackers, but they are great tools to see what you are eating and what you are burning calorie wise. Members are really helpful. Being active on your Spark Teams is a good way to stay motivated and accountable.
Hey everyone! My name is Matt, I've been a member on here for a while but haven't been active at all. Anyways, I'd like to change that and start participating, haha.
I'm 20 years old and attending college here in San Diego. I've struggled with my weight my entire life. I was at my worse in August 2011 where I weighed 172 pounds (I'm 5'6"). I then changed my eating habits and started exercising and reached 150 pounds.
Summer 2012 I began to develop really bad body image issues and began pretty much starting myself, pretty much eating only 300-400 calories per day, and then binging on the weekends. I lost a lot of muscle mass but no fat.
After the summer I started to realize I need to eat more, and I slowly reintroduced more calories into my diet.
At the beginning of this year I started eating 1200-1400 calories a day and I also started the Insanity workout program. I'm currently in my second to last week! :)
I've been through quite a bit, a lot of depression and insecurities about my body. And a lot of that still exists. But I try to not let myself go back to my old starving ways because I know that doesn't help.
I currently weigh about 138 pounds. I've been trying to get rid of my trouble areas, belly and love handles, through the workout and diet and unfortunately I haven't been successful...Even with eating healthy and this Insanity workout. :(
Sooo, that's why I decided to start being active on here! I could definitely use all the advice I can get. And of course I'd love to help anyone else! :)
