Here's the thing. Even if you're looking for healthier foods to feel good, you're still falling on old habits of using food to feel better.

Eating for comfort isn't a healthy mindset. Healthy food or not, if you're eating for comfort, it's time to find a new way to feel better. :) Find a different way to relieve stress. Stress eating leads to weight gain... even if it's low calorie stress eating. Because you can overeat on anything! Instead of defaulting to food for stress relief, try going for a walk, meditating, yoga, something. Try to reprogram that default response. Instead of seeking the "feel good" from food, try and find it somewhere else!

For me, it's carby goondess that must release the seratonin and make me feel good.
The flavored rice cakes (buttered popcorn, white cheddar) do it for me. Or I put a little PB on a sea salt one.

Special K Cracker Chips. These are my new bundle of joy. The southwestern chipoltle ones are only a shade over 100 calories or so for a serving of 27 (!!!!) chips. I love when they give you a serving size that's more than reasonable.

Popcorn works for me, but I have to be REALLY careful and make myself stop. Pretzels are the same way. I count out a serving.

Healthy Life whole wheat slices of bread are only 35 calories. They make great toast, with a light butter or jam spread.

I really like Lean Cuisine's Mac & Cheese -- on ly 280 calories for 10 ounces.
I try to keep on in the freezer at work for those days when a salad for lunch just won't cut it!
It is no where near as a fattening as say, regular Kraft Mac & Cheese which can be up to 400 cal/ 1 cup serving!

Is it good for you? Well, no, but that wasn't your question!

Other "comfort food" substitutes that I use include:
-- When I crave chocolate -- Chocolate pudding (fat free or sugar free) for about 100 cal/serving
-- When I crave salt -- I try a dill pickle (very salty!) or a can of spicy V-8 juice (salty, but no fat!)
-- when I crave ice cream I aim for the Skinny Cow Low Fat Ice Cream Sandwiches at 140 cal each, they keep me to a portion which is safer than if I opened a big carton of ice cream and hoped I'd only scoop out one serving!

Good luck in your pursuits of (low cal) pleasure!

Here lately I have been really stressed out and binging on junk food. Do any of you know of some low calorie food that makes you feel good after eating just like junk food does? Thanks
