Success is about how you present the food as appealing, not what kinds of food you're presenting, and also in what you say as a parent or grandparent.

Here are some ideas.....

Make food fun.... Avocado's are Alligator Eggs
Meatballs with rice ..porcupines
Carrots are rabbit food
Broccoli a bunch of little trees, sprinkle them with sesame seeds that you can call snow beads

Vagots...Kids love this and so do adults
1 roll of ready made dough, let it rise and roll out
(3 rolls to a package keep other two frozen)
1 pound of ground pork fried in a little Pam
Spread onto roll of dough and roll to form a loaf
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes...slice and serve

Roasted Apples
Toss unpeeled apple wedges into a little olive oil, pinch of salt and a pinch of thyme. Spread on a baking sheet and bake at 425 degrees for 30 minutes....serve as a snack or with turkey, chicken, pork, or beef.

Get a package of Tortilla's and American Cheese , lay a slice of American Cheese on the tortilla fold in half and fry in a little olive oil until cheese melts. Top with a dollop of sour cream or salsa if desired. Salsa is around $1.50..Walmart Brand.

Pasta Toss...Get tri-colored pasta.....cook 2 cups per package instruction .....Add 1 tsp. of Olive Oil to Cooked Pasta and some steamed with parm if desired (Parm has protein)

Beans improve mood
Dramatic fluctuations in blood sugar can bring out your child's cranky side, so choosing foods that help balance sugar levels is key to keeping kids happy and healthy. Beans have soluble fiber which regulates blood sugars so it may help soften mood swings and calm emotions.

Black, pinto, kidney, and other starchy beans have a pleasant, smooth texture, so it's easier than you may think to get picky eaters hooked. Add beans to taco-meat filling or turkey chili, or serve hummus (made from pureed garbanzo beans) as a dip for vegetables or baked chips.

You can take garbanzo beans and lightly coat them with cinnamon and bake for 10 them energy balls... if you need to get a child's interest

Oats are for energy
A warm bowl of oatmeal is a kid friendly breakfast with benefits. The fiber in whole grain oats supply a steady stream of energy that your kids' bodies and brains can draw upon all morning long.

Starting the day with high quality carbs helps kids stay focused during their morning classes

Take plain oatmeal, mix in chopped apple, chopped nuts, even peanut butter, and stir in an optional 1 to 2 teaspoons sugar, honey, or maple syrup for sweetness

Eggs can build muscle power
Add some nutrition to standard scrambled eggs by mixing in colorful vegetables like red bell pepper, spinach, cherry tomatoes, or broccoli, along with some calcium rich cheese.

Make a healthy breakfast burrito, or give your kids hard-boiled eggs for a snack; boil a dozen at a time and store them in their original carton in the fridge so they're ready to grab after school.

Spinach can sharpening vision.
Introduce them to baby spinach, whose tender leaves have a less bitter, more delicate flavor than regular spinach. Plus, baby spinach comes conveniently cleaned and packaged in bags and doesn't even require chopping, so it's a huge time-saver for busy moms. Wilt an entire bag into a pot of warm marinara sauce and serve over pasta or grilled chicken cutlets.

Another clever use for spinach: thaw and drain a box of frozen chopped spinach and add it to turkey burgers or meatloaf.

Cut apples up into bite size portions and make a dip with yogurt.

Use metal cookie cutters to make different shaped pancakes. (Pour the batter inside a heart, elephant, star etc.) You can also shape waffles with cookie cutters for sandwiches.

Make a popsicle out of a banana by inserting a popsicle stick into it. If you put nuts on it, it will stick to it before freezing.

Ask your kids to assist you in making kebabs, cherry tomatoes, ham cubes, black olives, cheese, etc.... Set out a side of mayo or mustard for dipping. Add some Terra Blue Chips instead of bread.

Toothpicks with strips of meat, vegetables or fruit attached can become boats. Cumberland gap has pre-packaged ham cubes in the meat section at Publix

Cheesy Stars Use a small star cookie cutter to cut cheddar cheese
pieces. In a separate bag provide crackers or apple slices. You can also use the cookie cutter to cut bologna, ham or turkey.

Fill celery with cream cheese. An equally delicious alternative to peanut butter is cream cheese or Laughing Cow Cheese? Stuff black olives with the cream cheese too!

String cheese and rolled meat slices, add a plum or tangerine

Make pasta out of zucchini and called them “good luck noodles” because of their green color.

i like to finely chop veggies and hide them in everything.. or make "desserts" sweet potato pie is excellent way of getting veggies and with all that natural sugar you hardly need any brown sugar.

i grate carrots and zucchini into alot of stuff like muffins, cakes, meatloaf, meatballs..

i also like to buy flax seeds (ground or whole) and throw them in just about everything for added fiber.

try adding healthy spices like cinnamon to muffins and cakes too, not enough to taste it (if you dont like the taste) but it will help.. also use curry powder, paprika and garlic and ginger more often instead of sauces.
