ive wanted to make tabouli for a while and spent 10+ minutes staring at the rice section. brown, yellow, white, basmati, aborio rice; quinoa, barley, couscous... NO BULGUR!!!
a month later i went to the manager... he took me straight to it, one aisle over, where the corn meal, masarepa, flour are displayed... he said he thinks because the brand was goya and the company wants to keep it with there other bags of ground grains, corn, etc.
HOPE THIS HELPED! i made my tabouli this morning finally!!! ready for some healthy yummy eating the next 3 nights at work
Thanks for all the great recipes! I can't wait to give them a try, they sound fantastic!! :)

I live in Canada and Bulgar can be hard to find here too however if the store has an ethnic food aisle then I they usually carry it. I used to live in Turkey and we used a lot of Bulgar and Lentils in our meals and I still cook a few of my favorites now and then however since I am not a very good cook I always need to follow a recipe. Some of my favorites are:
Thanks, Lilly! I'll check out both places when I hit the store this weekend. :)

I shop at Public too and have yet to find bulgur, but I do buy quinoa. In my public, I have found two different brands in two different places. One brand is in the pasta aisle. It's right between the Rice-aRoni, and pastas. It's a small display, and they have organic so a noodles, organic quinoa in a bag, and some different organic Mac and cheeses for kids.
Then, next to the poptarts in the cereal aisle, I found some other brand. It's something, East. Far East, or Near East...something like that. They even have red quinoa. When all else fails, ask someone who stocks the aisles. Spell it for them, because they won't know what you're talking about.
I've been trying to find bulgur and quinoa at my local publix for a while now. I have yet to find it! Any tips on hunting these things down? Aslo, I'd really like to make Chef Meg's Herbed Bulgur and Lentil Salad (http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-det ail.asp?recipe=652099). The reason I want to make it is to try more vegetarian recipes. So, how could I bulk up this meal to keep meat-loving hubby happy? Any side dish or bulking up ideas would be awesome.
