I was going to suggest overnight oats as well.

I make a smoothie every morning; if you have all the ingredients ready to go the night before it just takes a couple minutes to blend them up.

Make homemade gronola bars. That way you can have them as big as you want

I'm also a big fan of the egg white sandwich in the morning. It's about 2 minutes in my low-power microwave for the egg white. I do eat at home though. If I really need to grab and go I use a nutrition shake with a lot of protein and an apple or orange, some fruit that's not going to get too damaged if it has to jostle around in my bag for a bit.

If you go to the "Diet and Nutrition" message board, you'll find dozens of threads asking exactly the same question, with gazillions of great ideas. There are several very long threads on this board, too, if you page back a bit.

(Hey, my spell check thinks "gazillions" is a perfectly good word!)

I'm not a morning person either. I've done green smoothies that I've blended the night before, have preportioned egg whites and veggies to microwave in the morning and protein bars. Lately, I've been doing baked oatmeal:

2 c. oats, precooked to be dry and cooled (I use quick cooking w/2c. water)
1/2 c. plain Greek yogurt
1 c. + 2T egg whites
1 T vanilla extract
generous portion of cinnamon
fruit (I've done 2 mashed bananas + 1.5 servings frozen blueberries, 2 mashed bananas + 2 c. frozen sliced strawberries, crasins + raisins; I also tried a pumpkin/nut experiment, but I didn't like the results)
sweetener of choice

Mix all the ingredients together. Spray a 9x9 pan with cooking spray and pour in oatmeal mixture. Shake pan to level mixture. Bake at 350F for 30-40 minutes until set.

I cut it up into 6 servings for about 200 cal. and 10g protein. I toss it in the microwave for 1-2 minutes and pair with some fruit, and it keeps me full until lunch.

A lot of people enjoy overnight oats. You can find recipes on

Another option is to pop an English muffin in the toaster with a slice of cheese. Then microwave an egg in a mug that you sprayed with Pam. I'm not sure they exact timing of that but I bet you can find a recipe. Pop all of that together with a couple of sliced tomatoes and you've got a quick breakfast sandwich.

Hi all!

I am looking for new breakfast ideas. I am not a morning person and usually grab breakfast on the go. Any suggestions for a quick and healthy breakfast? Or something I can make the night before and reheat?
